Last night my daughter asked me when I lost my virginity! I have to be honest, I was a bit stunned. But also impressed at how comfortable she was asking me. I have cracked it! I am a parenting expert!
After 14 years as a mum, I have it all sussed. I know exactly what I am doing.... SAID NO ONE EVER!

The one thing I do know about parenting is that the challenges are varied, unique, often unfathomable and yet also very similar. We are living in a new world of parenting.
We are dealing with social media, sexuality, academic pressure and home schooling.
Yesterday I was in total despair. My daughter hadn’t done her homework and was having a panic. My other daughter couldn’t find her bus pass. Covid tests had to be done.
And where the hell are the black socks!!!
There was a time that this would have sent me into a total spin of screaming frustration.
Don’t get me wrong, occasionally I do lose my shit. But it takes a lot. And they respond because it’s not a constant level of “Mum’s going mad again” (eye roll).
I can’t tell you how to parent your kids. I can’t give you the magic key for success.
I am still trying to find the holy grail of parenting. What I do know for certain, the one thing that has created a more harmonious home life.
